Superstar Quarterback Joe Burrow Ends Season Due to Wrist Injury

Burrow Out for the Remainder of 2023

LSU Alum to Undergo Surgery

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist, forcing him to miss the remainder of the 2023 season. The news was confirmed by head coach Zac Taylor, who announced that Burrow will undergo season-ending surgery.

Burrow was injured during a practice session on Thursday, March 2, 2023. The injury is a significant blow to the Bengals, who were hoping to make a deep playoff run this season. Burrow has been a key part of the Bengals' success in recent years, leading them to the Super Bowl in 2022.

Despite the disappointing news, Burrow is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of the 2024 season. He is scheduled to be cleared from the injury in mid-May, giving him ample time to prepare for next year.

Burrow has suffered some serious injuries since being selected first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University (LSU). In 2020, he suffered a season-ending knee injury. However, he bounced back in 2021 to lead the Bengals to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Bengals will now have to find a way to replace Burrow for the remainder of the season. Backup quarterback Brandon Allen is expected to start in Burrow's place. Allen has limited experience as a starter, but he has shown promise in the preseason.

The Bengals' playoff hopes will now be in jeopardy without Burrow. However, the team is confident that they can still compete for a playoff spot. They have a talented roster, led by wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and running back Joe Mixon.
